Punch Rugging!

(Navigate slider below)

This week at Bottle Blonde we started off by catching up on t-shirt orders. As I've done this a few times now I can happily say I can do the whole process independently. We got through so many! We were all asked to make a few mug designs, and then have a design meeting to showcase every ones work. As I've done so many this was difficult for me to think of some new ones, but I enjoyed doing it as it was great to see everyone else's. For the rest of the week I went to the studio, and taped tinsel ready to be made into the jackets. Also shown in the photos is an email, where my photo-shopped sweaters are featured.

This week I've put a lot of time into punch rugging. The rug above is my very first one. I sketched the design out, and then began. After many hours, the rugging was done, so I took it off the frame, trimmed it, and neatened up the back. I'm so proud of it. I'm thinking of selling it, to get back the money I spent on all the equipment. Using photography skills I learnt at university, after doing several photo shoots, and a photography advantage course, I want to take the time to do a proper shoot of the rug, which will help it to sell, but also so I can use it in my portfolio etc. My next rug will be for my Nan for her birthday, which will also be cow print, in shades of yellows and greens.

In my spare time this week, I decided to do an illustration for one of my Instagrams. I think it's good doing these from time to time, as it helps me expand my creativity, and practice my drawing skills. I've also turned it into a fun screensaver for a phone. I have finally finished my most recent embroidery too, which I'm really happy with. This past week we've also had a snow day, so I allowed myself a day free of doing any work/ creative stuff to go and enjoy it!
